What is a Gas Log Fire?
Gas log fires are small gas heating systems. They are typically installed in a living room or master bedroom, often in an existing fireplace, and flued to the outside atmosphere.
Modern gas log fireplaces are a popular choice in a number of homes around Australia. They deliver the warmth and charm of a traditional fireplace in a log cabin, complete with the flickering flames but without all the hassle and mess of managing an open fire or a wood pile.
There are two types of natural gas log fireplaces:
- Freestanding gas fires – available in a range of designs with classic shapes for traditional homes and rooms. Radiates heat from all sides and can warm a whole room quickly. They are easy to install and maintain.
- Inbuilt gas fires – save on floor space and complement the floorplan of your home. These heaters are often safer as they're typically installed in existing fireplaces, so children and pets cannot run around them. Note that if you don't have an existing chimney in place, it can be more costly to install inbuilt gas fireplaces.
Designed with flexibility and convenience in mind, gas log heaters come in an extensive range of sizes and designs. This means there's one to suit any home, from ultra-modern living spaces to traditional settings.
